Flat flex cable

(FFC) is typically designed for linear moving applications that require a large degree of flexibility. The high quality cables are light weight and ultra thin yet their superior reliabilty makes them ideal for use in tight spaces.

FFC is a miniaturized form of ribbon cable, which is also flat and flexible. The cable usually consists of a flat and flexible plastic film base, with multiple metallic conductors bonded to one surface.

FFC cables are available in .5mm and 1.00mm pitches with options for flexibility, shielding and grounding; the polyimide backing strip option offers direct soldering to a PCB.

ZIF cables are a cost effective solution for space saving and low profile applications where the FFC cable needs is to be either terminated to ZIF connectors or crimp-terminated to suit any of the various industry standard pins.
